Students who submit a language score that does not meet the full language entry requirements of 7 overall 7 writing IELTS or equivalent will automatically be offered the appropriate pre-sessional language course as a condition of LLM entry if and where possible.

Overall, you should plan on lectures, diasertation and independent study taking up at least 40 hours a week. The in-sessional course for law students is the ‘Critical thinking and writing in law’ programme which can be taken during term time and includes teaching on general English, lecture comprehension and seminar skills, grammar and vocabulary and academic writing.

What is the module credit structure on the LLM? The thought of writing a 15,word dissertation is daunting! After enrolment After enrolment, such changes will be extremely difficult and can only be considered within the first week of teaching and prior to module selection.
The usual qualification for entry to the LLM programme is a degree in law, or a degree with a substantial law content, normally of at least upper-second class honours or equivalent. More details for procedures on exam problems will be given to you in your student handbook. Usually over a two week period in early August.
The Critical Thinking and Writing in Law programme is a specialised series of interactive lectures designed to improve your writing and research in law, while providing a solid foundation for you to prepare for and complete your exams and dissertations with confidence.

Those on the Laws General and European Law LLM can attend any module overview session as applicable modules are spread across many programmes. LLM students are highly motivated individuals and we only dsisertation people who we believe can successfully complete the programme. You should still apply and provide a transcript of degree marks achieved so far.

These three early sessions below are REPEATED in week two but if you are on the two disserfation concerned or may wish to take a module in that area then you will need to book a place. An exception would be for those applying from a non-law background where only one specific LLM programme may be suitable.
