Sulkowicz responded to the lawsuit by saying it is “ridiculous that Paul would sue not only the school but one of my past professors for allowing me to make an art piece” and saying that Nungesser has made “continued public attempts to smear my reputation”.
In an editorial for the Federalist, columnist Mona Charen stated that she believed Sulkowicz was likely “shading the truth” and argued that, while campus rape was a real problem, advocates did not pay enough attention to the possibility of false allegations.
Sulkowicz alleged that Nungesser choked them, slapped their face, held their wrists, and anally raped them, while Sulkowicz sukowicz and told him to stop.
